Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith.

Our Mission

It is our mission to glorify God by passionately following Christ.

What We Believe

At Forest Hills Baptist Church, we align ourselves with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.

  • We believe glory is due to God alone.
  • We believe in one God.
  • We believe in the inerrant Word of God.
  • We believe salvation is by grace alone.
  • We believe in the death, resurrection and return of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe without faith it is impossible to please God.

Notes from the pastor

For by grace are ye saved through faith. Ephesians 2:8a

WORSHIPPING

We invite you to join our Sunday services, where we come together to worship and hear a message delivered by Pastor Stanford. The worship services start at 10:45 am. On the last Sunday of each month, we end the service by taking the Lord's Supper and finish with a fellowship meal. We look forward to seeing you there!

MINISTERING

We have a variety of ministries that you can get involved with, including children's ministry, youth ministry, and adult groups. These ministries provide opportunities for fellowship, growth, and service.

SERVING

There are many ways our members serve as an act of love and discipleship. No matter what your spiritual gifts are, there is a place to serve at Forest Hills Baptist Church.

PASTOR BOB STANFORD

MUSIC MINISTER WALT GRAVES

Bob Stanford has served as a pastor Texas since 1981. His idea about serving as pastor is simple: Stay in the Word, love the people and help others know and serve Jesus. To that end he has spent considerable time in formal preparation, earning several degrees including a PhD. from the Southern Baptist Seminary. Pastor Stanford has stated that the greatest part of ministry is seeing people grow into Christlikeness through the ministry of the Word and Spirit.

Bob and Sue have been partners in life and ministry since their wedding day, August 1972 in Corpus Christi. Along the way Aaron and Stephen came along and eventually five super grandsons and the greatest daughter-in-love in Texas, Kym became part of the family.

Pastor Bob retired in 2018 and moved to Seguin to help his son, Stephen who was pastoring Forest Hills. When Stephen took a new church, Forest Hills asked Bob to become pastor. And the rest of the story is still being written…

MUSIC MINISTER WALT GRAVES

Walt Graves has spent his working career as a structural and nuclear engineer, but when called to lead music, he willingly said yes. Each Sunday he chooses both traditional hymns and songs of the faith as well as modern day praise and worship choruses.

DEACON DAVID SOWELL

MUSIC MINISTER WALT GRAVES

MUSIC MINISTER WALT GRAVES

David has been given many gifts to be used to edify the saints, but if asked, he will tell you his heart his driven to be a servant. And, that is the best definition of a deacon. So, if there is something that needs done, David is generally right in the middle of taking care of it.
